Overkill Ecumenical Chess

The page on Overkill Chess refers to an idea for a variant whose array has the same pieces plus Camel compounds with them and with their components. Here it is. It follows the pattern of having two aside of pieces with two components, and one aside of pieces with more.

The KING moves one step along the four orthogonals and four diagonals, and must be kept out of Check.

The other symmetric pieces are compounds with 2, 3, or 4 out of the Rook, Bishop, Knight, and Camel moves as follows:

The PAWN moves one step forward. It moves orthogonally except to capture, which it does diagonally.

Rules

The initial double-step Pawn move, En Passant, and need for promotion on the far rank are as in FIDE Chess. Promotion is however to Actress/Ace/Acme/Acropolis/Actor rather than to simple or even two-component pieces.

There is no Castling.

Check, Checkmate, and Stalemate are as in FIDE Chess.
