Rose Chess
This is a simple idea. How would Christian Freeling's classic game work with Roses?
Setup
The setup is the standard Grand Chess setup. Or you can put all your pieces on the first rank.
Pieces
* Roses, instead of Knights. * The Archbishop (or Cardinall) is Bishop+Rose. * The Chansellor (or Marshall) is Rook+Rose. The Rose is a circular rider, making multiple knight moves along a circle until it reaches the original square. Null moves are not allowed. If a Rose started with the Knight move [n,nw] (one step north then one step north-west), it must continue : [nw,w],[w,sw],[sw,s],[s,se],[se,e],... etc. It may start in any of the main eight directions.
Rules
Other than the setup and the pieces, every thing is as in Grand Chess.
Notes
This isn't the most original invention, but it's a test-worthy idea.
