Let me add 1 more category to your motives for swapping games, George.
Being something of a chicken but not wanting to play only my own games, I
swap. So I play a game of mine, something familiar and comfortable, and
often I play something I would not have volunteered to play, a little
adventure, and the other guy gets to do the same. I consider it a win-win
situation. ;-)

By the way, in reference to 'NextChess', I've accepted a game of
Mammoth Chess. I have a question. I'm playing a few games that use the
specific piece, but they are other 'large' variants, not Mammoth. Does
playing games that feature the piece but are not the specific game count?
I've also got a game of Wildebeest going, which I believe is the second of
the 3 games you named for this year. ... Oops, Wildebeest is 2013. Oh,
well. I am playing 3 games on the list, even if the years are 2009, 2013,
and 2014.
