Hmm, I didn't have the Centaur in mind for this tag, but I guess it fits (Royal Court, Sac Chess). Any opinions about that?

I've generally assumed that it would qualify. Man + Knight = Centaur. I have a series of QBRM compounds of Queen, Bishop, Rook, and Man with various leapers, represented with names from cultures related to the leapers: Arabian for Camels, Kenyan for Zebra, Zulu for Gnu, etc., so that Man + Camel = Jinaaral, Man + Zebra = Jikilele, Man + Gnu = Mkuu, and so forth.

What about pawn compounds (any existing games aside from some absorption games? Speaking of...should Absorption Chess be here?)?

I'd say that Pawns like the Troll and the Dragon Pawn should certainly qualify.

I don't think absorption games should, as a rule, qualify for Compounds. Exceptions can be made if the players start with them, rather than build them during play.
